Graduate 2025 GutiƩrrez Fernandez (Nam)

  • Enters JA Class of 2020
  • Instituto Sanmiguelense
  • Systems Engineering

Let's be honest: not many JA students go to high school in India, pay for the university education with a combination of multiple scholarships, and cover the rest by professionally playing Indian Tabla (drums.) But there is nothing ordinary about the extraordinary young man.

"I graduated high school from the Miri Piri International Academy in Amritsar, India, and since then I have been looking for what the Japanese call "Ikigai", which is the conglomerate of the mission, vocation, profession and passion.

During high school I participated in cleaning the pathway to, and sacred sites of, the golden temple in Amritsar; as a graduation project, I worked with a community outreach program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Upon returning to Mexico I was contacted by Sikh Dharma International and United Sikhs to serve as project leader in support of Morelos, Puebla and Mexico City after the 2017 earthquake.

The experiences I mentioned above gave me valuable learning, two visions of the world, the East and West, and my internal work is to reconcile them. India gave myself an understanding of otherness in the world, the dominance of English, compassion and a clear path to follow, among many other things. My way of always being grateful to life for that opportunity is to face everyday life with grace to be a better person and generate a more positive world for everyone. Study will allow me to specifically capture my service impulse

I have always felt freedom from my family to build my life, although there are currently resource insufficiencies. When discussions or differences are presented, I begin to observe what happens within myself to process it, because I know that we cannot always converge with the visions of others. Sometimes one of the parties has to give in to generate a more positive and pleasant situation for those involved. On the one hand I have my mother as the home supplier and on the other hand I have the guide and advice of the International Sikh community."

Fast forward to December 2024, and Nam has already enjoyed his graduation ceremony, while continuing his professional practices. The journey through college, as we all know, is not just about academics. It is a particular path into young adulthood.

"This last quarter was full of good news and moments of celebration. I continued my internship at Insulet Mexico, graduating and earning the best GPA in my career. In addition to school, I became independent and found a super nice place to live in a variety of ways. I end the year with new healthy habits and knowledge. "

My commitment to the Sikh lifestyle and yoga practice is the way I can have a discipline to specify what I propose...
NAM
I can do my best in the systems engineer career since the state of Guanajuato is frequently mentioned as the "epicenter of industry 4.0", placing Mexico as the leader of this transformation for all Latin America, and me in a strategic position to achieve my goals within this profession.
NAM
The company where I am doing my internship invites me to be certified as a Salesforce administrator, which is the tool they use at the company level, and with which I will be working in my position as a functional analyst. All the digital needs of the business are implemented in Salesforce, so I need to specialize in it.
NAM
Once I become a full-time employee, the company will cover the cost of certification. Now that's my priority: to be recommended by my manager for the Permanent contracting. It's a great career path and I'm working hard to achieve it.
