"One of my most cherished achievements is being selected for the Guardian of Heritage book, a collection of university posters that celebrates Guanajuato's identity in its most diverse expressions.

In 2024, my Corpus Christi poster was chosen to be part of this project, which not only gave me great pride but also a reminder to trust myself."

"My love for art was born at a very young age, thanks to my paternal grandfather. He was a self-taught, highly creative painter who expressed his passion through his work. His paintings... The walls of my house filled with color... All of that shaped my childhood.

He taught me to see art not only as a form of expression, but as a way of seeing the world through different eyes.

I am a firm believer in designers who understand art as a tool to communicate, transform, and connect."

"More than ever, I'm sure I want to be part of that world."

“It has undoubtedly been one of the best experiences,” Angelita says, speaking of her introduction to contemporary art. “Not only was I able to combine this interest, but also to explore, from a conservation perspective, how these pieces are handled in different environments: a museum, an exhibition, an auction, or a gallery.”

What left the most lasting impression on her was experiencing firsthand the various techniques used today. “How this influences what a work can or cannot represent was something that made me reflect deeply. Because leaving aside the material aspect, what a piece represents and the reason for making it, explained directly by the artist or through discussions with experts on the subject, is a completely different world.”

That immersion helped her make a clear decision:

“It helped reinforce my decision to specialize in contemporary art.”

"Design, for me, isn't just a career; it's the way I can combine my creativity with a purpose—making things not just look pretty, but also mean something to someone else. And that's what motivates me the most!

If there's one thing I completely fell in love with, it was photography. One semester, we explored portraiture and created an album; the next, we focused on product photography, specifically spirits (like my photo of a beer bottle and glass, below.) We learned amazing tricks, like using matte hairspray, moisturizing diaper gel (yes, you read that right!), and glycerin water to simulate condensation droplets on the bottles. They even looked like they'd just come out of the refrigerator!"
