JA Peers
JA graduates working with current JA students in a new peer support program.
Rolando Jimenez Bonilla
- Class of 2019
- Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy | Universidad Tecnológica de San Miguel de Allende
- Class of 2025
- Master's Degree in Food and Beverage Business Management | Universidad Tecnológica Latinoamericana en Línea
After graduating with a degree in Gastronomy, Rolando Jiménez Bonilla has continued building his path in the culinary world while finding new ways to give back to Jóvenes Adelante for the support he received. Today, Rolando is part of JA Peers, where he shares his experience and supports students who are now following a path similar to the one he once walked.
“Jóvenes Adelante believed in me at a very important moment in my life and gave me the opportunity to complete my university studies. Today, one of the ways I can give back for that support is by sharing my experience with those who are just beginning that same journey.”
Rolando continues his Master’s in Food and Beverage Business Management (class of 2025.) He also devotes his time to Café Bonilla—his culinary venture in San Miguel de Allende—where he teaches cooking classes and develops new creations, such as his recent gluten-free beet bread.
For Rolando, supporting JA students means more than simply offering advice. It means reminding them that challenges are temporary and that the effort they put in today can help shape their future.
“Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and remember that challenges are temporary. Consistency and discipline make a big difference.”
Hannia Lizbeth Gómez Segura
- Graduate 2025
- Bachelor's in Odontology
- Universidad Cuauhtemoc
For Hannia, Jóvenes Adelante was more than a scholarship—it was a community that believed in her and supported her throughout her journey. Now, as an Odontology graduate, she hopes to give back by accompanying students who are facing challenges similar to the ones she once experienced.
"A conversation, a piece of advice, or simply knowing that someone believes in you can make a big difference. I want students to remember that they are not alone on this journey."
Through her experience, Hannia hopes to encourage students to trust their process, ask for help when needed, and continue moving forward with confidence.
