| Building a Leadership Journey
KEVIN SEALTIEL
- Entered JA with the Class of 2025
- Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
- Political Science and Public Administration
I've been fortunate to visit the places where political and administrative decisions are made—the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, local congresses, and city councils. Every experience has shown me that real change begins when people have the opportunity to participate.
That commitment to public service led Sealtiel to one of his most meaningful experiences: serving as City Clerk during a City Council Simulation organized by UNAM and the Municipality of Naucalpan.
A City Council (Cabildo) is the governing body where municipal leaders debate and approve policies that affect everyday life, from public safety to parks and public services.
When I was younger, I dreamed of studying at UNAM and helping improve my community. Today, I'm beginning to do both.
Since the beginning of my degree, I've participated in forums, conferences, workshops, research projects, and debates. These spaces allow students to begin participating while we're still learning, giving us the opportunity to contribute ideas and prepare for the future.
Students from the University of Havana and the Cuban Association of the United Nations invited me to participate in the 30th edition of their academic debate conference. It is an opportunity to continue learning, strengthen my international perspective, and discuss issues related to human rights.
Sealtiel is building a leadership journey opening doors to opportunities where he can contribute, learn, and serve on both national and international stages.
For Sealtiel, the greatest inspiration comes from opportunities that take learning beyond the classroom. Exploring new places, meeting people with different perspectives, and experiencing how ideas are shaped in other environments motivate him to keep seeking new experiences to grow, with hopes to one day, create a positive impact in his own community.
