Finding Your Voice: A Storytelling Workshop. Youth Documentary Academy

One of the things I learned in the workshop was that, as human beings, we tend to develop prejudices toward others.
Often, these prejudices are not conscious, but have formed over time due to ideas and beliefs instilled in us since childhood. These ideas are repeated in our family environment, in society, and in the media, which means that, without realizing it, we end up repeating the same judgments without questioning them. On other occasions, prejudices can be the result of our own experiences and perceptions, which lead us to generate misconceptions about others. However, these judgments are often based on limited information or a lack of interest in truly getting to know people beyond the superficial. From that experience, I have learned several valuable lessons that have changed the way I see the world and interact with others.
One of the most important is the importance of valuing each person for who they really are, without being swayed by appearances or labels imposed by others. Every person has a unique story, with experiences, dreams, struggles, and achievements that have led them to who they are. Learning to see people beyond their physical appearance, social status, or any other superficial characteristics allows us to connect with them in a more genuine and empathetic way.
