Bits & Pieces

Class of 2025

Daniel Ventura

Bachelor's Degree in Gestión Empresarial

Instituto Sanmiguelense

Guanajuato International Film festival Documentary

I was invited by my own institution and classmates to be part of a very striking project such as  making a documentary in the category of "Identity and Belonging" within the 29th edition of the GIFF (Guanajuato International Film Festival;) not only that, they asked me to be the director of the project. Without knowing 100% that I would bring this adventure with it, and without thinking about it so much, I accepted. Oh! What a surprise I had when once inside the workshops, I realized the  magnitude and responsibility that this meant. I had to start immediately, to work on my leadership and organizational skills, because there was endless documentation, audiovisual content and pending COLLECTION  to make this possible. It was a bit challenging at the beginning and worrying that two events this big were in front of me - as I was also chosen as co-leader of the organization of "La Flaca.", is an annual cultural and educational Day of the Dead festival organized by the Instituto Sanmiguelense. It seeks to preserve and promote Mexican traditions through *Catrina* contests, Day of the Dead altars, culinary showcases, dance, and music. Despite that, I think they served perfectly the demand I set from myself at this point in life, and although this has brought friction with people from both projects, I have tried to control my judgment and action in the best way.

Puerto Arcila, Andrea Camila

Bachelor's Degree in Educational Innovation

Achievements:

  • Participating in a systemic mapping contest, organized by the University of Oxford and taught at the Tec Qro campus: "The objectification and dehumanization of the body of the racialized athlete."
  • Making a short film called "Anormal" and I'm very excited because I'm in charge of the camera direction. Two years ago I would never have imagined all the new things I would try and the new passions I would discover.
  • Presenting to Pablo Ayala, national director of  the Leaders of Tomorrow scholarship (at Tec Monterrey) achievements and projects that the student group ALMAS has carried out on the Querétaro campus since I have been on the board.
  • The philanthropy team of Tec de Monterrey at the national level will attend a new edition of “Inspiring the Future Talk,” where we invite Lideres De Mañana Tec alumni to share their personal development, showing how the LDM program is fulfilling its mission. For the remainder of this semester, we will continue to organize many other events that fill me with excitement.

Class of 2024

Martínez Arvizu, Francisco

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering

Universidad Autónomo Metropolitana

Languages

To improve my command of the English language I decided to take an intensive private course of 6 months, hoping to improve this section much more.

I also started with a Mexican sign language course, this because I consider that being able to understand and communicate with others is very important, in addition to the fact that this can help me in the future with the Firefighters Children's Club. Another reason why I decided to take this course is to combat the inequality that is experienced in our country for deaf people and people with other disabilities.
